Hainan Airlines is all set to expand its network in North America further. The airline has announced it will be launching its new flights to Calgary from Beijing starting from June 30, 2016. The new summer seasonal service will be the airline’s first ever to Calgary.
China’s leading carrier Hainan Airlines has said that it will be initially offering flight services on the newly launched trans-Pacific route thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The direct flights will be operated from Beijing. The airline also announced that it will be adding a fourth Sunday service on the new route from October this year.
While providing the flight schedule, a spokesperson of Hainan Airlines said that the outbound flights would be departing from Beijing at 16:00 hrs and reaches Calgary International Airport at 13:05 hrs. The return flight on the other hand would depart from Calgary at 15:05 hrs and arrives at Beijing at 17:10 hrs next day.
The airline has decided to initially serve the route with the help of an Airbus A330 aircraft configured with the capacity of a total of 222 seats. Later on the aircraft on the route will be upgraded from August 1 this year when the Airbus A330 aircraft will be replaced with a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with a total seating capacity of 212 passengers.
Hainan Airlines is already conducting many flights services seamless connecting key North American destinations from China. The airline said that Calgary will now become the airline’s seventh destination on its North American network. Among other destinations being served in North America include Los Angeles, San Jose, Chicago, Boston, Seattle and Toronto.
Meanwhile, media reports recently said that the request of Hainan Airlines for conducting three roundtrip flights per week between Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport (LAS) and Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) has been finally approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. The flights on Beijing-Las Vegas route will be launched from September this year.
