Hainan Airlines to offer 36 business class seats to Boston

China’s leading carrier Hainan Airlines recently announced it is planning to launch a new Boeing 787 Dreamliner service to Boston.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China has approved the new route. The flights, which would be operated daily, are expected to commence from Beijing Capital International Airport to Boston in April 2014.

According to Hainan Airlines, the customers planning to book business class tickets would be offered 36 seats in business class cabins. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner to be operated on Beijing-Boston route would also offer 177 seats in Economy Class. The aircraft is configured with two classes only, and there would be no first class or premium economy class.

The launch of the Dreamliner service to Boston’s Logan International Airport would be its second direct connection to Asia. Japan airlines had last year commenced direct Dreamliner flights to Boston from Tokyo.

Hainan Airlines had in July this year taken delivery of the first of 10 Dreamliners it had ordered. The airline plans to use these Dreamliners on a series of trans-Pacific routes to North America.

Apart from Boston, the airline is planning to offer Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights to Chicago, Seattle and Toronto from Beijing.
