Hawaiian Airlines daily nonstop Honolulu-Fukuoka flights to begin April 2012

Hawaiian Airlines recently announced that it will launch daily nonstop flights to Fukuoka from Honolulu from April 2012, pending Japanese government’s approval. Fukuoka will become Hawaiian Airline’s 3rd destination in Japan, while it will be its 4th destination in Asia after the flight services begin.

The other three Asian destinations of Hawaiian Airlines include Tokyo, Seoul and Osaka. The airline launched flight services to these three destinations in November 2010, January 2011 and July 2011 respectively.

Starting of Fukuoka flights also means that Hawaiian Airlines will be adding approximately 100,000 new seats annually from Japan to Hawaii.

Mark Dunkerley, President and CEO of Hawaiian Airlines, said that there has been an extremely strong demand for the airline’s services from Tokyo as well as Osaka in Japan. Travelers from Fukuoka have also been pressing for the start of flight services from Honolulu. Considering this demand, Hawaiian Airlines has decided to begin flights to Fukuoka from Honolulu, said Dunkerley.
