Hawaiian Airlines Direct Flight Service to Lure Chinese Travelers

Hawaiian Airlines will offer direct flights from Honolulu, Hawaii to China from April. The airline wishes to cash upon the popularity of Hawaii and easy visa process that are a hit amongst Chinese travelers.

Hawaii Airlines, Eighth biggest airline in the U.S. is extremely confident to make good business despite strong competition it is going to face from its many Chinese rivals. Millions of rich Chinese travelers over the past decade have chosen Honolulu as their destination for vacation primarily due to its easy visa procedures, tropical climate and beautiful locales.

Hawaiian Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Peter Ingram said that tourism to Hawaii is going to soar high, thanks to the ever growing disposable income. Though the proportion on Chinese travelers is less, even then their strong economy will definitely help the percentage of Chinese travelers grow. He further mentioned that Chinese travelers to Hawaii have increased by 40 percent a year since 2012.

The Service will begin April 16, 2014 and will connect Honolulu to Beijing, the capital of China. Operated by Airbus 330 this tenth new international destination will offer a total of 294 airline tickets between the two cities.

Even Air China has launched Beijing-Honolulu service three times a week from January 21, 2014.
