Hawaiian Airlines launching daily nonstop flights to Honolulu from New York JFK June 4

Hawaii’s flag carrier Hawaiian Airlines recently announced that it will launch daily nonstop flights to Honolulu from New York JFK beginning June 4, 2012.

However, the Hawaiian Flight 51 will only start departing from New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) daily at 10.00 am and will be arriving at Honolulu International Airport at 3.00 pm beginning June 5, 2012. While, the return flight will depart from Honolulu daily at 3.05 pm and arriving at New York JFK at 6.55 am the following morning.

Hawaiian Airlines stated that the new flights from New York will be adding more than 107,000 new air seats annually, thus benefitting the Hawaii’s tourism industry in a big way from the Eastern US. 

The airline will deploy its new Airbus A330-200 aircraft configured with 294 seats, including 18 seats in the First Class.

To mark the launch of the new service, Hawaiian Airlines is offering introductory fares at special rates. The passengers can avail the opportunity to book cheap flights to Honolulu starting from as low as US$212 one-way in Economy Class, while those intending to travel by First Class can book their tickets starting from US$808 one-way. The special introductory fares are valid for travel between June 4 and June 30, 2012.

According to Mike McCartney, President and CEO of the Hawaii Tourism Authority, the new service to be operated by Hawaiian Airlines on New York JFK-Honolulu route is expected to generate an estimated US$156 million in direct visitor spending as well as US$17 million in state tax revenue annually. He also hoped that the new direct flights to New York from Honolulu will also prove to be accessible and convenient for travelers from the East Coast.
