Hawaiian pre-pones the launch of LAX- Kahului service by a month

Hawaiian Airlines announced its decision to pre-pone the launch date of its flights between Los Angeles and Kahului by one month. The airline had earlier announced that it would launch year-round service between the city pair beginning June 1, 2014. However, it now intends to commence this service on May 2, 2014.

The Honolulu, Hawaii based airline will now offer plane tickets to its travelers from a month earlier. The flights are set to operate between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Kahului Airport (OGG). Apart from this service, it intends to add a second daily flight on this route for eight weeks during the peak summer season. This service will be active for a period between June 30, 2014 and September 8, 2014. With these flights, it will add additional 32,700 seats between the city pair.

The airline will use the services of Airbus A330-200 planes to fly these daily services. These aircrafts comprise a seating capacity for 294 passengers. Of these 294 seats, 18 are available in First Class, and 276 are available in the Economy Class. As per the schedule, the flights will depart Kahului at 3:40 pm and arrive in Los Angeles at 11:55 pm on May 2. Return flights will depart Los Angeles at 11:15 am and arrive in Kahului at 1:40 pm on May 3.

The airline is keen to expand its footprints across the markets that it deems profitable. Earlier this year, it announced the launch of direct flights during the summer months from Los Angeles to Lihu’e, and Kona. This service will be instrumental in connecting all the Hawaiian Islands with the southern part of the California state.
