Hilton San Diego Bayfront named 6th top meeting hotel in U.S.

The Hilton San Diego Bayfront has made a place for itself among the top 10 meeting hotel in the United States. The hotel was recently named as the sixth top meeting hotel in the U.S. during an annual ranking held by Cvent Inc., a reputed U.S.-based event management company.

The Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel is situated adjacent to the San Diego Convention Center and has been serving for the past several years as the main venue for the Comic-Con International San Diego convention. This one of the largest event of its kind in the U.S. is held annually.

The hotel offers more than 165,000 square feet of space for organizing meetings and events. The hotel with its 1,190 guestrooms offers convenient accommodation facilities as well. The Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel presently has the highest ratio of meeting space to hotel rooms in downtown San Diego.

According to the organizers of the event, the rankings of the properties was based on several criteria, which included market share in the metro area, awarded room nights, awarded RFPs total room nights requested, and total requests for proposals. For qualifying for the rankings the total available meeting space offered by the hotels should be more than 50,000 square feet. The hotels must also have 10 or more meeting rooms as well.

The Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel recently added the Media Lounge as part of its new offerings.  The media Lounge prominently features intimate tables, PC and Mac computers, and plasma TVs. The hotel offers itself as the best venue in San Diego today for business and social gatherings.
