Hong Kong Airlines daily all-business class flights to London to begin in March 2012

Hong Kong Airlines recently announced that it is going to start its daily all-business flights to London from Hong Kong starting from March next year. The airline will operate the flights between Hong Kong and London’s secondary airport Gatwick.

Hong Kong Airlines in a statement confirmed the launch of the premium-only flights starting from March 8, 2012 on a daily basis. The airline further stated that London Gatwick Airport has been chosen to operate the flights because it is more convenient than London Heathrow Airport.

London Gatwick airport is preferred most by the business travelers because it provides a direct rail link on London’s Thameslink line connecting the City of London financial district with several stops.

The airline said that it will deploy 3 new Airbus A330-200s with just 116 seats on the Hong Kong-London Gatwick route. According to the airline, the planes despite being an all-business class flight will have two versions of HKA’s premium ‘Club Class’ cabins.

The aircrafts will have 34 Club Premier ‘suites’ with fully flat 1.8 m beds in a spacious 1-2-1 staggered layout. The passengers in the suites will be provided a ‘fine dining service’ with individual table settings. Besides, they will also be provided with several facilities, such as a turndown service with duvets, pyjamas and slippers along with luxury amenity kits. They will also be able to enjoy watching movies on 15.4 inch 16:9 video screen.

The aircrafts will also be configured with 82 Club Classic seats with a 1.3 m (51 inch) seat pitch. They will also be able to enjoy watching movies on 10.4 inch HD video screen.
