Hong Kong Airlines has announced it is looking forward to expand its network to key North American destinations further in 2017. The airline has also indicated that it would enhance its flights services to Asia-Pacific as well during this year. The announcements were made during the 10th anniversary celebration of Hong Kong’s flagship carrier.
Media reports said that Hong Kong Airlines will be launching daily flights to Vancouver, a key city in Canada and North America. The flights are scheduled to start from June 30, 2017. According to the reports, the flights between Hong Kong and Vancouver will be served with the help of an Airbus A330-200 aircraft configured in two classes with a total of 264 seats. The business class cabin would comprise of 18 seats, while the economy class will offer 246 seats.
The North American destinations being currently served by the airline include Toronto, Seattle, Chicago and Boston. These destinations are being served in codeshare partnership with China’s leading carrier Hainan Airlines and operated out of Beijing Capital International Airport and Shanghai Pudong Airport.
Zhang Kui, co-chairman of Hong Kong Airlines, said, “Hong Kong Airlines has been consistently maintaining a robust growth and striving to expand its network further while ensconcing itself firmly in Hong Kong and simultaneously focusing on the Asia-Pacific region. The airline has presently an extensive network spanning in over 30 key cities in the Asia-Pacific. Moreover, the airline’s passenger traffic is set to zoom with a record high of 6.6 million, thus bringing the market share to nearly 10 percent.”
Hong Kong Airlines while continuing to maintain its future growth has said that the year 2017 will the launch of flights services to 11 new destinations, which includes New Zealand and Australia. The airline sees the new development as a record-breaking achievement.
