Hong Kong Airlines to open new VIP Lounge this September

Hong Kong's flagship carrier Hong Kong Airlines recently said that it will be opening its new VIP Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport in September 2016. The lounge will be situated at the airport's Midfield Concourse. Ben Wong, COO of Hong Kong Airlines, while talking to mediapersons provided the details regarding the new facility, and said that it would be bigger than the existing Club Bauhinia lounge at Terminal 1 and would be double in size.

The new VIP Lounge would be open for access to First Class and Business Class customers. It would be divided into zones. The passengers would be able to enjoy panoramic views of the runway with one side of the lounge being open for this. The shared areas would be modern and aesthetically designed, and adorned with photos of Hong Kong's development in various phases. This area would also be equipped with high-tech gadgets like Apple Mac with fast Wi-Fi broadband access. The passengers would also get opportunity to visit an exhibition of exclusive products, and purchase souvenirs as well.

Business travellers while in transit can also take the advantage of attending conference calls or conducting small meetings in one of the many rooms of the VIP Lounge equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual technology. The rest areas in the lounge also have shower facilities and flat beds offering the much-needed relaxation to the passengers prior to boarding their flights.

With its new VIP Lounge, Hong Kong Airlines has made best efforts to keep its privileged customers happier. It has taken care of food offerings quite well. The passengers can treat themselves to the traditional street food of Hong Kong in the exquisitely designed food area. Apart from this, an onsite chef would also be available who will cook up local delicacies such as noodles and egg waffles whenever required.

Hong Kong Airlines wants to transform itself to a “global, full-service hub-to-hub airline”. The new VIP Lounge is therefore being seen as a part of the airline's ultimate ambition. Of late, the airline is also planning to enter the North American market and launched flights services to Sapian on July 6, 2016. The airline considers the launch of flights to Sapian as a stepping stone for foray to North America.
