Iberia plans launching Iberia Express for short and medium haul flights

International Airlines Group (IAG); the company that heads Iberia and British Airways has okayed the introduction of a new short and medium flights service-Iberia Express to aid the current operations of Iberia Airlines.  As clear by the nature, the new flight service would ply Iberia’s short and medium haul routes.

The new flight operator would compete majorly in the European and Spanish domestic market. The new flight operator is expected to grow gradually and completely freely in other markets as well.

Iberia Express is planned to get rolling from summer 2012. It would use a fleet of A320 aircraft and offer business and economy class seats at highly attractive fares (Madrid outbound). The new flight operator would also aid Iberia’s long haul operations.
