Icelandair Denver-Reykjavik service likely in Q1 2012

Icelandair is likely to begin nonstop flights to Reykjavik from Denver in Q1 2012.

Media reports said Denver International Airport officials might make an announcement regarding the new nonstop Denver-Reykjavik service soon.

The airline is expected to deploy a Boeing 737-200 aircraft – configured with 138 Economy, 14 Premium Economy and 24 Business Class seats – on 3,568 mile Denver route. A Denver International Airport official said that Icelandair would hopefully provide passengers in western United States with a low-cost alternative for traveling to Europe, with a stopover in Iceland.

Icelandair currently serves 23 European destinations with nonstop flight services. The airline operates flights to Amsterdam, Paris, London and Frankfurt, besides 8 cities in North America.  Presently, British Airways offers a daily flight to London, while Lufthansa provides daily flight to Frankfurt from Denver International Airport.
