Icelandair sponsoring photo contest to mark Reykjavik-Denver route launch

Icelandair recently announced that is sponsoring a photo contest to mark the launch of nonstop flights to Reykjavik from Denver International Airport on May 11, 2012. The lucky winner of the photo contest will be awarded the trip of a lifetime when the flight is launched between the two destinations.

Anyone of 18 years or older can take part in Icelandair’s Denver photo competition. It is mandatory for the participant to hold a current passport. Icelandair will award the photo contest winner with 2 roundtrip tickets on its Reykjavik-Denver inaugural flight on May 11, 2012, three nights stay at Icelandair’s Hotel Loftleidir, a Golden Circle tour, and a Blue Lagoon tour.

Icelandair, as part of the competition, is looking out for the best photo that connects The Mile High City to Iceland. The airline wants the contestants to get creative and take photos that go down very well showing the exuberant spirit for Denver, Icelandair’s newest home. You make take a photo of yourself eating Skyr in front of the Molly Brown House or Byers-Evans House, sport a Viking hat during a Denver Broncos game, or flash some Icelandic Krónur in front of the Mint.

Photo submissions begin from October 4, 2011, and the voting starts on October 25, 2011 and ends on November 8, 2011. The photo getting most votes on November 8, 2011 will be finally declared the winner.
