Icelandair to begin direct flights from Edmonton from next March

There is good news for passengers planning to buy airline tickets from Edmonton and board flights to Icelandair? As now, they can fly directly to Iceland from Edmonton.

Icelandair has announced it will be launching direct flights to Iceland from Edmonton International Airport starting from March 26, 2014. The airline will operate nonstop flights four times every week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Helgi Már Björgvinsson, Icelandair’s Senior Vice-President of Marketing and Sales, said that the airline expects Edmonton to prove to be a great market for flights to and from Iceland.

He said that the launch of its flights between the two destinations would be beneficial to the people as they will be able to seamless connect to over 25 different destinations in Europe.

According to the airline, the flight duration will be 6 hours and 20 minutes between the two destinations. The flight will depart from Edmonton at 6.30 pm and arrive in Iceland at 6.50 the next morning. The return flight will depart from Iceland at 4.45 pm and arrive in Edmonton at 5.30 pm.
