In-flight bars now becoming a growing trend on airlines

Several international carriers are trying everything within their command to make flying a luxurious and exclusive experience for premium customers travelling in first class or business class flights. One such example of classic exclusivity is the in-flight bar, which is now a growing trend on board the aircrafts of many international airlines.

Many international airlines have now installed a drinks lounge on the upper deck of their Airbus A380 aircrafts, where the first class and business class customers would be served a wide selection of wines and cocktails. Prominent airlines which have installed in-flight bars include Etihad Airways, Emirates Airline, Qatar Airways and Korean Air.

Let’s take a look at the in-flight bars offerings of these leading international airlines. Etihad Airways has christened its serviced lounge and bar ‘The Lobby’. It is being offered on its Airbus A380 aircraft. The Lobby has a marquetry table, a semi-circular leather sofa and a 32-inch screen with live TV. The Lobby draws its inspiration from the Arabian concept of the Majlis, which literally means a space where guests can meet and entertain.

The cocktail bar on Emirates Airline’s Airbus A380 aircraft upper deck is also a big draw among the frequent flyers and business class travellers. Here guests enjoy intermingling with their co-passengers and relax while sipping their cocktail or glass of wine.

Qatar Airways offers a curvaceous combo bar/lounge on its superjumbo Airbus A380 aircraft, located at the rear of the business class cabin. The travellers can entertain at the bar/lounge, which boasts of sweeping sofa-style seating.

Korean Air also offers a dedicated bar on its Airbus A380 aircraft. The exclusive bar is sponsored by Absolut Vodka.
