JAL to launch additional daily service on Tokyo-New York route

Japan Airlines has announced its decision to revamp its schedules to New York and launch another daily flight to the city. The airline, which has been in operation from the year 1951, at present, flies to about 15 destinations in the country. The association of the airline with the country is deep rooted and the number of international destinations served within the U.S. justifies it all.

The flagship carrier of Japan has decided to increase the frequency, alter flight schedules, and deploy different aircrafts to the city. Passengers will now be able to book airline tickets on the route amid many positive changes. As per the reports, the airline has boosted the frequency of service between Narita International Airport and New York. It will deploy additional plane between the city pair to compliment the current daily flights. Beginning March 30, 2014 the number of weekly flights to/ from Tokyo and New York will rise to 14 from current 7.

The airline seems to be keen on expanding its footprints across the globe, and United States is one of the prime countries of service on its global network. Many Japanese travelers frequent New York for leisure and business. Likewise many passengers from the United States visit Japan each year for business and holiday alike. Since, there is heavy passenger traffic on the route, it makes sense for the airline to launch additional service.

Currently, the airline flies to about 92 domestic and international destinations. It is an active member of the Oneworld Alliance. It operates from its hubs in Haneda Airport (Tokyo), Kansai International Airport (Osaka), Narita International Airport (Tokyo), and Osaka International Airport.
