Japan Airlines has announced it is entering into codeshare partnership with Alaska Airlines aimed at offering multiple connections to North American destinations. The codeshare pact will enable Japanese and other Asian travelers from Tokyo and Osaka to connect to new U.S. destinations apart from the existing cities including Los Angeles, Vancouver, San Diego and San Francisco.
Media reports said that the Japanese travelers will now be able to take connecting to many new destinations with the help of Alaska Airlines. These new destinations include Salt Lake City, Boise, Santa Rosa, Monterey, Fresno, Palm Springs, Portland and Seattle. Apart from these, the airline will also offer connectivity to the Mexican resort city of Los Cabos as well.
The codeshare partnership of Japan Airlines and Alaska Airlines would become effective from June 29, 2016. The pact is however yet to be approved by the government. The customers traveling would get opportunity to earn frequent flyer points on codeshare-operated routes by either airline.
Alaska Airlines is presently conducting flight operations across Washington, Oregon and California. With the new codeshare pact into place now the customers of Japan Airlines would now get more flight options and increased access to new cities in the United States.

Japan Airlines will now be able to further expand and boost its presence across the Pacific Northwest. Our customers will also earn additional mileage and get redemption opportunities.” Japan Airlines is currently operating an impressive fleet of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners and Boeing 777-300ERs between various destinations in Japan and North America.
