Japan Airlines relaunches its flights on Osaka-Los Angeles route

Japan Airlines recently resumed its flights to Los Angeles from Osaka Kansai. The flights between Osaka’s Kansai International Airport (KIX) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) became operational from March 20, 2015.

The airline is operating the flights on the 9,218 km Osaka Kansai-Los Angeles route daily with the help of its Boeing 787-8 aircraft. This city pair is currently not being served by any other carrier.

Los Angeles will now be the airline’s second destination to be served from Osaka. Japan Airlines is also providing its flights daily flights services to Honolulu, the capital city of Hawaii Islands. Apart from this, Los Angeles will also be Japan Airlines’ second route complementing its existing daily flights services from Tokyo’s Narita International Airport (NRT) as well.

Yasuhiro Nakamura, Japan Airlines, Senior Vice President – The Americas, said, “The airline is elated to further extend its trans-Pacific network. The re-launch of service from Osaka Kansai to Los Angeles will strengthen the airline’s presence in this major U.S. city. This has also come as a boon for the customers as well as they will get more flexible and convenient travel options to travel to Japan and other destinations in Asia.”
 
The resuming of flights to Los Angeles has also been welcomed by the airport officials. Gina Marie Lindsey, Executive Director of Los Angeles World Airports said, “The relaunch of nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Osaka will boost cultural, tourism and business relations with one of the most desirable cities in Asia. The travelers from Los Angeles will now get even more choices to travel to the economically significant Kansai region and to other destinations beyond in Asia.”
