Japan Airlines resuming Tokyo-DFW flights from November 30

Japan Airlines has once again decided to resume its flights services to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) after absence of 14 years. Japan’s national flag carrier recently announced it will start operating its flights to Tokyo from Dallas/Fort Worth effective from November 30, 2015.

The airline first started operating its flights to Dallas/Fort Worth in 1999. It however stopped its services after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York. Japan Airlines is presently into codeshare partnership with American Airlines, and will operate the Tokyo-DFW route in association with the leading U.S. carrier.

American Airlines is currently operating twice daily flights to Dallas/Fort Worth from Tokyo with the help of a Boeing 777-200 aircraft. Japan Airlines has stated that it will be offering four days per week services between the two destinations utilizing its modern Boeing 787-8 aircraft, with state-of-the-art seats in a three-class configuration and latest cabin interiors. The Japanese carrier is also planning to operate scheduled daily flights during spring 2016.

With the return of Tokyo-DFW flights services by Japan Airlines, the two destinations will now be served with up to 18 weekly roundtrip flights. The resuming of the service would also immensely benefit customers travelling from Tokyo as they will now be able to make convenient connections to more than 200 cities across North America, South America and Central America.

Apart from this, the customers transiting through Dallas/Fort Worth will also gain from Japan Airlines’ newest route with International to International Baggage Transfer. This facility can be availed by those customers who check baggage through to their final destination to/from selected countries outside of the United States. This process will do away with the need for customers to reclaim their baggage at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
