Jet Airways boosts codeshare pact with Etihad Airways

Jet Airways has further strengthened its network by expanding its partnership with Etihad Airways. The UAE national carrier Etihad Airways has for been a strategic partner of India’s largest private carrier for quite some time now.

The airline recently announced it is expanding its codeshare agreement with Etihad adding a wide range of destinations around the world to its network. The expansion of codeshare pact will now enable the airline to conveniently connect to major destinations in Asia, North America, Europe and Middle East from its main hubs in Delhi and Mumbai. The airline tickets for new codeshare flights can now be purchased by the customers.

The new codeshare will prove to be advantageous for customers booking Jet Airways flights from India to seamless connect on Etihad’s network on a single ticket for travel to various European destinations via Abu Dhabi. These destinations include Milan, Dublin, Paris, Munich, Manchester, Geneva, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Brussels and Amsterdam. Major cities in North America such as Washington, New York and Chicago will also be covered under the codeshare pact. Apart from these, the customers will also be able to connect to Brisbane via Singapore and Nairobi and Johannesburg in Africa as well.

The coideshare agreement will enable the two airlines to use each other’s networks on a reciprocal basis. Jet Airways will now be able to place its code on Etihad Airways-operated flights for travel via Abu Dhabi to prominent Indian cities including Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai, Calicut, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.

Etihad Airways will also similarly be able to place its code on Jet Airways-operated flights between Abu Dhabi and major cities in India including Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Cochin, Delhi and Mumbai. The codeshare pact will also enable Etihad’s customers to conveniently connect to Far East Asian destinations such as Bangkok, Hong Kong and Singapore on flights operated by Jet Airways.

Frequent flyer members of Etihad Guest and Jet Privilege while taking the benefits of redeeming and earning miles across the global networks will continue enjoying extended reciprocal benefits when traveling on either airlines. The reciprocal benefits to be enjoyed by customers include flier level bonuses, excess baggage allowances, longe access, baggage tagging, boarding and priority check-in.

A top official of Jet Airways expressed happiness at the codeshare pact expansion and said that the partnership with Etihad Airways will continue to strengthen further and increasingly benefit the customers with enhanced benefits. The codeshare agreement is expected to be greatly appreciated and welcomed by both leisure and business travelers.
