JetBlue Adds Four New Caribbean Destinations

JetBlue adds four new routes to its ever growing list of destinations. The airline will now fly to the Caribbean and will offer direct nonstop flights to the Caribbean. New flights will link the U.S. East Coast with Santiago, Montego Bay, Port-of-Spain and Punta Cana.

Giving further details of the routes, the airline said that it will offer flights from Newark to Santiago and from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Montego Bay, Port-of-Spain and Punta Cana.

The Caribbean region does not have many intra-regional flights, hindering the passenger and cargo movement. And hence JetBlue decided to offer additional flights to the region. In the past few years JetBlue has substantially increased its inter- and intra-regional routes in the region. Presently it has become a leading carrier, offering maximum flights between the regions of New York and the Caribbean.

Robin Hayes, President JetBlue said JetBlue offers 69 flights between various US destinations and the Caribbean. We offer more than 200 flights daily to and from the Caribbean region, which is more than any other carrier in the world. In order to improve the connectivity within the region, we will continue to grow our network here. We ensure to bring more and more US travelers to the region and create more business opportunities for the people here.

JetBlue flies to Boston, Puerto Rico and Florida from Newark Liberty International Airport. From Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, it flies to 29 destinations including its latest addition Pittsburgh, where it starts flying from October 29 this year.

JetBlue also announced that it will stop flying its once-daily direct flight between Long Beach and Washington, D.C. The last flight will fly on September 2, 2014. As per JetBlue’s spokeswoman Jenny Dervin, the airline wants to concentrate on its other important routes operating out of Washington Reagan National Airport. She further said the airline will continue to be the only airline connecting Long Beach to the East coast and will offer flights to the city from Boston and New York.
