JetBlue Airways begins twice-weekly flights to Grenada

JetBlue Airways recently launched its new flights to Grenada from New York JFK. The airline will offer services on its 3,391-km route twice-weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. The flights between the two destinations will be operated with the help of an Airbus A320 aircraft.

Media reports said that JetBlue Airways will be facing strong competition from Delta Air Lines and Caribbean Airlines on the route. According to the reports, Delta Air Lines operates weekly flights, while Caribbean Airlines offers twice-weekly flights services.

JetBlue Airways will be providing nonstop flights services to 67 destinations from New York JFK this summer, up from 64 destinations last summer. Apart from Grenada, two new destinations where the airline started its services include Curacao and Reno. The flights to Curacao started operating in last December, while flights to Reno were launched in May this year.

JetBlue Airways launched its operations for the first time in February 2000, with flights to Fort Lauderdale from New York JFK. The airline continued to grow and started flying to 11 destinations by the end of the year from New York JFK utilizing its Airbus A320 aircrafts. Over the years the airline''s network has only expanded.

A spokesperson of JetBlue Airways said that the airline will be serving 67 destinations this summer from its main hub at New York JFK. The airline will be serving at least 41 domestic destinations within the United States with nonstop flights. All, except five destinations, will be provided at least daily flights services. JetBlue Airways is presently the second largest carrier, after Delta Air Lines, to operate flights out of New York JFK.
