JetBlue Airways bracing to confront Hurricane Irene aftermath

JetBlue Airways is trying to regain its feet after Hurricane Irene slammed the East Coast and other parts of US causing devastation and havoc.

JetBlue Airways along with several other US airlines were forced to lower prices, waive fees and cancel flights due to the hurricane.

The airline had to curtail 434 flights this week end in view of the poor weather conditions due to Irene.

JetBlue Airways said that its fortunes plummeted during the past few weeks. Its shares from its July highs above US$6.20 tumbled, and are currently hovering at around US$4, thus sending its shareholders into a tizzy, spurring them to put protection on their shares.

The airline said that it is struggling like several other Irene-affected airlines to stabilize its flight operations to the previous levels as well as make up for the huge losses.

JetBlue Airways is the leading low cost carrier in the US and serves 70 destinations in 22 states, and 11 countries in the Latin America, South America and Caribbean. The airline provides cheap flight deals to its customers regularly.
