JetBlue Airways recently expanded its codeshare partnership with Qatar Airways. Media reports said that 29 new codeshare destinations have also been added from Boston Logan International Airport. The extended pact will become effective from March 16, 2016.
According to reports, the expanded partnership would be coinciding with the launch of daily direct flights to Boston from Doha by Qatar Airways. The customers travelling by Qatar Airways would now find it convenient to conveniently connect onto JetBlue Airways’ network and would be simultaneously offered seamless transfer process via both Boston and New York. The new routes under the extended partnership between the two carriers include West palm Beach, Tampa, Seattle, Savannah, Sarasota, San Juan, San Jose, San Francisco, San Diego, Saint Thomas, Sacramento, Richmond, Raleigh Durham, Portland, Orlando, Oakland, New Orleans, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, Long Beach, Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale, Detroit, Denver, Cleveland, Charleston and Austin. The flights to these 29 new routes will be conducted from Boston Logan.
Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive of Qatar Airways Group, said, “The codeshare partnership with JetBlue Airways has strengthened at a time when Qatar Airways is focusing on expanding its own direct links to the United States and beyond by launching nonstop flights to Boston, Atlanta and Los Angeles throughout 2016.”
Al Baker further stated that the customers taking flights to Boston on Qatar Airways’ latest flagship Airbus A350 XWB aircraft would be able to seamlessly connect onwards to nearly 30 destinations across United States through JetBlue Airways. The expanded codeshare partnership is expected to further boost the overall passenger experience.
