JetBlue Airways introduces spring menu on premium Mint cabin

The premium Mint cabin introduced last year by JetBlue Airways on transcontinental routes will now be featuring new menu specially created for its flights during spring.  The airline in a statement said that the customers booking business class flights on San Francisco-New York JFK and Los Angeles-New York JFK routes will now enjoy California wines and other delicacies.

The airline hired the service of Chef Brad Farmerie, who hails from New York's Saxon + Parole restaurant. Chef Brad Farmerie said that he had to spend two years in designing the dishes, which would be offered on a tapas-style menu. The premium customers will be offered a choice of three out of five options available on board the aircraft.

A tasting of the sample menu was conducted recently in the presence of mediapersons. The sample included ricotta gnudi, a black Angus burger, roasted Atlantic cod, green goddess salad, and courgette and feta frittata. While explaining about his creations to the mediapersons, Chef Brad Farmerie said that the menu is the perfect balance between the new creations and restaurant’s signature dishes.

Providing further details about the new menu, the airline in a statement said that other menu offerings include Blue Marble Ice Cream, truffled portobello mushroom mousse and pastries from New York’s Mah-Ze-Dahr Bakery. The menu will also be featuring espresso and coffee by Brooklyn Roasting Company. JetBlue Airways has also become the first airline in the United States to install a purposely-built cappuccino machine on board its aircraft.

Apart from the dishes, some of the best California wines will also be offered to the customers. The airline has selected five California wines for the menu. Among other wine options on offer include Turley Juvenile Zinfandel, Broc Cellars Eaglepoint Ranch Conoise, Copain Tous Ensemble Chardonnay, Lioco Indica Rose, and Roederer Estate Brut.
