JetBlue Airways spreads wings across Latin America and Caribbean

New York-based low-cost carrier JetBlue Airways continues to dominate the aviation scene in the Caribbean and Latin America. The airline expanded its flights services to many new routes in the two regions in 2015. The company officials have now indicated that the airline will continue to spread its wings further in 2016 as well.

Media reports quoting top officials of JetBlue Airways said that the airline either expanded or launched new flights to Barbados, Antigua, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic in 2015. Earlier this year the airline also introduced its Mint premium service to attract business travelers on both New York and Boston and Barbados. The year 2016 will also see the airline expanding its flights services between New York and Curacao with the addition of a third weekly flight.

Robin Hayes, CEO of JetBlue Airways, said, “The airline now feels proud in serving 27 airports in the Caribbean region. Moreover, new route to Quito, Ecuador was also added to its Latin American network this year. Major Latin American destinations being offered flight services include Medellin, Cartagena and Bogota (Colombia); San Jose and Liberia (Costa Rica); and Mexico City. We are happy to say that one-third of the airline’s capacity is now devoted to Latin America and the Caribbean. Serving the unique and vibrant communities in the two regions is crucial to JetBlue Airways’ success.”

JetBlue Airways is presently also having codeshare agreements with regional carriers including Seaborne Airlines, Silver Airways, LIAT and Cape Air, all of which are providing access to intra-Caribbean flights to the travelers.
