JetBlue Airways to introduce business class on JFK-LAX route

Passengers traveling on New York JFK-Los Angeles route are in for surprise this June. JetBlue Airways has announced it will be introducing its first business class cabin on its premium transcontinental route. The passengers would enjoy traveling in fully-flat seats being provided by the airline.

The leading low-cost carrier said that the new business class seats would be rolled out first on its 0930 flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport starting from June 15, 2014. The airline will also be introducing the premium product on its New York JFK-San Francisco route from October 26 this year.

JetBlue Airways has named its new business class product as ‘Mint’. The airline indicated that the seven flights being operated on New York JFK-Los Angeles route would be equipped with this product by 2014 end. The airline further stated that all its five flights currently operating on New York JFK-San Francisco route would offer business class seats to the customers by the end of Q1 2015.

Robin Hayes, President of JetBlue Airways, said that the new seats would be installed on its A321 aircraft on five rows in the front. The airline will be offering 16 full-flat seats on the aircraft. The passengers would also be provided option to reserve fully-enclosed mini private suites.

Hayes said that this new business class product offered by the airline will be among the best in the United States. He said that the mini suites wouldn’t cost much initially.
