JetBlue offers rarest selection of wines to Mint flyers

JetBlue minted a new way to fly to San Francisco last month with the introduction of its MINT premium service on flights connecting John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) in New York and San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The airline has also hired a Wine Guru, Jon Bonné for offering delicious wines to the Mint passengers. Bonné is The New California Wine’s author and The San Francisco Chronicle’ Wine Editor.

The airline introduced Mint for the business class passengers of JFK-LAX in June, 2014 and is offering the service on flights bound for San Francisco as well. It is the only airline in the United States domestic market to offer a private suite for business travelers. In addition to the private suite with a door, Mint features a lay-flat seat, 15 inch flat screen with DIRECTV programming of 100 channels and SiriusXM satellite radio.

The wine selection is the rarest of all featuring Roederer Estate Brut and Lioco Sonoma County Chardonnay, made by the California outpost of Champagne Louis Roederer, Copain's Tous Ensemble Pinot Noir from Mendocino's Anderson Valley, Birichino Malvasia Bianca from Monterey County and Juvenile Zinfandel from Turley Wine Cellars. The carrier has collaborated with unique partners to offer the best experience in-flight with Mint. Along with the best selection of wines by Jon Bonné, the customers can choose among five offerings served tapas style by the restaurant, Saxon+Parole in New York. Birchbox offers separate amenity kits for men and women while Blue Marble Ice Cream and Mah-ze-Dahre Bakery satisfy your sweet tooth with desserts and sweet treats respectively.

The premium Mint service is available on the Airbus A321 aircraft with two daily flights in each direction. Flight 415 departs from JFK at 4.30 pm and arrives in SFO at 8.09 pm. Flight 915 leaves from SFO at 8.30 pm and arrives in JFK at 12.11 am. From San Francisco, flight 16 departs at 7.00 am and arrives in JFK at 3.20 pm. The second flight 916 takes off at 9.20 pm and lands at 5.32 am. Starting around Thanksgiving, another daily flight in each direction will operate until December.
