JetBlue Strengthens Its Presence at Washington DC

The skies will get a little bluer over Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. As JetBlue is expanding its network and launching new routes from here.

With effect from December 18, 2014 JetBlue will offer flights to two Floridian cities Fort Myers and West Palm Beach. Flights to both the destination will be operational during the winter season.

The daily nonstop flight between Washington DC and West Palm Beach will leave at 7.59 am and arrive in PBI at 10.33 am; return flight will leave at 11.20 and arrive in DCA at 1.38 pm. Flights between Washington DC and fort Myers will leave at 10 am and arrive in DCA at 12.21 pm; return flight will leave at 2.40 pm and arrive in RSW at 5.18 pm.

The airline will also offer additional flights on the routes from December 19 through January 4, 2015. Additional flight on DCA-PBI route will depart DCA at 12.30 pm and arrive 3.01pm; return flight will leave PBI at 3.40 pm and arrive at 5.59 pm. As far as DCA-RSW goes, flight will leave RSW at 6 pm and arrive at 5.22 pm; return flight will leave DCA at 8.15 pm and arrive at 10.55 pm.

JetBlue has recently acquired 12 slots as part of deal merger deal of US Airways and American Airlines, under which AA had to surrender 104 slots at the Ronald Reagan Airport. More flights will be soon announced by the airline as part of its ramp up program.

JetBlue first started operating at DCA in 2010 and since then, it has grown to offer flights to 24 destinations. It is planning to offer 30 daily direct flights from DCA by this year end. This has benefited the Reagan National Airport the most, as it was traditionally known to be the high-fare airport. With the advent of JetBlue the airport has witnessed substantial decrease in fares.
