JetBlue’s new nonstop seasonal routes to Costa Rica and Saint Lucia

The residents of Massachusetts and the Greater Boston area should be quite pleased as they get to visit Costa Rica and its pristine beaches with discounted airfares every Saturday. JetBlue Airways has started offering flights connecting Logan International Airport (BOS) and Daniel Quirós International Airport in Liberia (LIR) from November 1, 2014. It is the largest carrier at BOS with 54 nonstop routes flying out of Boston. Besides Costa Rica, the airline is also offering winter season flights to Hewanorra International Airport in Saint Lucia (UVF) and Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic (POP). The three flight services started operating on November 1, 2014. The flights will fly weekly on Saturdays only.

JetBlue is the only airline to offer nonstop flights to Costa Rica as well as Saint Lucia. Currently, the airline operates nonstop flights from Boston to 13 destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America including Grand Cayman, Santo Domingo, Saint Thomas, Jamaica, Punta Cana, Nassau, Puerto Rico and Santiago.

The LIR flights depart at 7 am and arrive at 11.40 am and return leg leaves from LIR at 12.40 pm and arrives in BOS at 7 pm. The flights bound for Puerto Plata depart at 10.30 am and arrive in POP airport at 3.24 pm. The return flights leave from POP at 4.24 pm and reach BOS at 7.10 pm. Saint Lucia flights leave 45 minutes earlier than POP i.e., 9.45 am and reach UVF at 3.29 pm. The flights returning to Boston depart at 4.25 pm and arrive in Boston at 8.40 pm.

The three flight services will operate using Airbus A320 aircraft with 150 seats.

The airline has also increased the frequency of flights from New York to Liberia, Fort Lauderdale to San Jose and Orlando to San Jose.
