Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants planning new properties in Chicago

Two new properties will be coming up in Chicago and Tennessee. Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants recently announced it is planning to expand the footprint of its brand by launching new properties in Chicago as well as Nashville, Tennessee. The new hotels in both the cities are scheduled to open in 2016.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is a boutique hotel chain. The Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will now be operating the new 180-room boutique hotel in Nashville. The new hotel here will be coming up adjacent to the Vanderbilt University campus in Midtown.

A historic building in Chicago’s Central Loop neighborhood has also been purchased. This building will be converted to a four-star hotel, which will comprise of a total of 281 rooms.

Media reports said that this will be Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants’ fifth property in Chicago. The 14-story historic building, which has now been purchased for being converted to a hotel, was originally constructed in 1894. It is presently serving as a commercial office space. The iconic building is one of the only two existing office buildings in Chicago to be created by William Le Baron Jenney, an architect of international repute.

According to the reports, the new hotel in Chicago will be opened in Q1 2016. The prominent features of the new hotel include a 9,500 square feet of prime shopping space on the ground floor, a vibrant Library Bar on the second floor adjacent to the living room and lobby, and a destination restaurant and bar. The new hotel will also offer more than 12,500 square feet of event and meeting space on the 14th and 15th floors, as well as a top floor ballroom with beautiful views of LaSalle Street. The other four properties of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in Chicago include Hotel Palomar, Hotel Monaco, Hotel Allegro and Hotel Burham.

The hotel at Nashville to be operated under the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will be its first property in Tennessee. The hotel is likely to open in late 2016, and will be featuring 180 rooms, a pool, 6,500 square feet of event and meeting space, and a restaurant and bar.
