KLM new B787-9 aircraft to have fully-flat business class seats

Dutch carrier KLM recently indicated it is looking forward to receive its first Dreamliner Boeing 787-9 aircraft later this year. The airline said that the new aircraft will fully-flat seats in its business class cabins.

According to a spokesperson of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, the customers booking business class tickets would be offered direct aisle access. The aircraft will also be prominently featuring 16-inch personal screens with state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment. The business class cabins in the new Dreamliner aircraft would be configured 1-2-1.

KLM further said that the economy class cabin in the new aircraft would have a 3-3-3 configuration. The seats would recline 40 percent more than what is being currently offered on other aircrafts. The customers travelling in economy class would also be offered an 11-ich in-flight entertainment screen.

The airline has also introduced the innovative “Communicate via Seat Chat” option to its customers to talk to co-passengers who are not seated nearby. The customers travelling in all classes would also be offered onboard Wi-Fi facilities.

Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, said, “The new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft would be offering even more comfort and privacy to the customers. The airline decided to introduce some innovative concepts to this special aircraft, which makes it unique among many other Boeing 787 aircrafts in the world today. The customers would enjoy travelling in the Dreamliner and get a totally new flying experience.”
 
KLM has said that it will start operating its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to destinations such as Xiamen, Cairo and Bahrain. The airline will launch its flights on Amsterdam-Abu Dhabi-Bahrain route starting from October 25, 2015. The airline will also deploy its Dreamliner to operate two of its four weekly flights to Cairo from Amsterdam from November 30.
