KLM Royal Dutch Airlines fleet to be refurbished with new Business Class interiors

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines recently announced it will be refurbishing its World Business Class (WBC) cabin interior across its fleet and has asked leading Dutch designer Hella Jongerius to undertake this project.

The revitalization program will enable the airline to modernize its WBC product, keeping in view the international allure and the Dutch heritage.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines said in a statement that it wants to create and entirely new look and feel in business class across its fleet.

Prominent Dutch designer Hella Jongerius, apart from designing the World Business Class cabin interior, will also shape the full-flat business class seats. 

Erik Varwijk, Managing Director of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, said that by opting to engage a top Dutch designer Hella Jongerius and refurbishing the cabin interiors, the airline wants to help make its passengers taking business class flights feel at home and abroad.

The airline revealed that it will start revitalizing its first aircraft in June 2013. A total of 22 Boeing 747-400s will be converted first. The airline will be providing further details of the design and the new business class seats in the second half of 2012.
