KLM to launch Wi-Fi and lie-flat business class seats on B787-9

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines recently announced it will be launching its new “KLM Wi-Fi” product on its newly-acquired Boeing 787-9 aircrafts. The airline hopes to receive its first Boeing 787-9 aircraft in October 2015.

The details of the offerings on the new Boeing 787-9 aircraft have also been announced by the leading Dutch carrier. A spokesperson of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines said that its premium customers booking business class tickets would be offered lie-flat World Business Class seats.

According to the airline, the seats to be offered in business class cabin would be based on the Zodiac Cirrus seat, and will have a seat pitch of 42 inches with direct aisle access. Apart from the luxurious seats, the business class fliers would also be offered an individual 16-inch state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system and extensive storage space for keeping personal items.

The airline also indicated that its customers travelling in economy class would be offered 11-inch monitors and access to power sockets in their seats as well. The seats in the economy class have also been refurbished, with the seat recline now being 40 percent more than what is being currently offered on long-haul international flights presently.
