KLM to revamp international Crown Lounge at Amsterdam Schiphol

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines recently announced it will be revamping its international Crown Lounge at Amsterdam Airport Schipol. The redesign and expansion of the lounge will take place over the next two years. The Crown Lounge will however be operational during the revamp exercise which will be completed in stages. The refurbishment would be finalized in spring 2019.
 
The airline’s Crown Lounge is situated between Pier E and Pier F. It is open for exclusive access of business class customers traveling on intercontinental flights. The lounge is currently located on the airport terminal’s second floor but would be expanded with the addition of a third floor during revamp. The Crown Lounge presently has a seating capacity of 800, which will be increased to 1,400 after the revamp is complete.
 
A spokesperson of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines said that the lounge will be equipped with the latest technology and the premium travelers gaining access here would be offered outstanding service. Whether it’s the kitchen design, logistics, lounge staff service, refreshments or dining, new concepts will be employed for everything.
 
“The efforts are to veritably create the lounge of the future. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines accords top priority to its customers and wants to offer them ultimate experience on the ground as well as on board their flights. The interior design will be entirely new. As the travelers enter the lounge they will be mesmerized with a completely new look and a refreshing experience,” said the spokesperson.
 
Media reports said that KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is making extensive efforts to upgrade the onboard service offered to its customers in its World Business Class effective from the coming summer schedule. The airline is yet to make an official announcement in this regard. The reports also stated that the airline will be introducing a “Dine and Demand” service on routes such as Johannesburg and Tokyo.
