Korean Air introduces new baggage system, to allow three bags in first class

South Korea’s national flag carrier Korean Air recently introduced a new checked baggage system. The airline put into effect the new system keeping in with the current international trends.

The airline stated that it will now adopting the piece system on international flights. The new Piece System will limit the number of baggage instead of weight, as according to the international trend which has been adapted by various airlines.

Korean Air announced that it will now allow three checked bags of maximum 32 kg each for customers booking first class flights.

For customers booking air tickets in economy class, the airline stated that it will be allowing only one free piece of luggage at a maximum weight of 23 kg to be checked in on international flights. However, those booking flights to the U.S. have been excluded.

The airline stated that its customers traveling in business class (Prestige Class) will be allowed to check in two bags, each weighing a maximum of 32 kg.

Korean Air further stated that its luggage policies for flights to the U.S. shall continue to be unchanged. The customers traveling in economy class to the U.S. will still be allowed to check in two pieces of bag, each weighing a maximum of 23 kg.
