Korean Air to focus on gains from business class fares sale

South Korea’s national flag carrier Korean Air has now set its sight on earning big revenues from the sale of its first class and business class tickets.

Korean Air recently disclosed that it will be increasing long-haul flights on several routes even as its main rivals continue to effect costs cutting measures by reducing long-distance flights. The airline has indicated that apart from adding routes it will also be boosting its service to major cities across the world.

Chi Chang-hoon, President of Korean Air, said that the airline would be looking for increasing its premium traffic on key routes in order to drive growth. He said that the carrier benefitted this year with the increase in the number of Chinese passengers who largely boycotted travel to Japan because of a territorial dispute.

Chi Chang-hoon said that the airline would now be increasingly focusing on boosting sales by offering first class and business class seats to its customers at competitive rates.
