Korean Air to offer additional business class service on Atlanta route

Korean Air has received the order of its tenth Airbus A380 on July 29. It plans to deploy the same on its Incheon-Atlanta route post full inspection from August 3, 2014.

At present the airline offers its A380 service to New York and Los Angeles 14 times a week and to Paris seven times a week from its hub at Incheon International Airport. It also offers A380 service to Atlanta, strengthening competitiveness on long-haul business class routes.

Marketed as a “hotel in the sky” by Korean Air, this double-decker aircraft comes equipped with a low-density layout offering seats under three classifications. It offers 94 fully flat business class seats called as ‘Prestige Sleeper’. All these seats are located at the upper deck of the aircraft, making it the first airline to take the step of devoting its entire upper deck exclusively for business class flyers.

This double-decker jet also features a duty free shopping area and bars. The duty free shopping is located at the end of the lower deck and boasts of a huge variety of duty-free products. A dedicated crew member is present the assist passengers with all their shopping demands. The ‘Celestial Bar’ designed for passengers to unwind, offers exquisite collecting of Korean spirits. While onboard passengers can taste six exclusively created cocktails and even choose to be a part of the cocktail tasting event conducted for VIP passengers by the airline.

The A380 aircrafts offers 301 economy class seats and 12 ultra-luxurious first class seats called as ‘Kosmo Suites’. The first class suites are located at the front of the main deck and offer ample independent space, while also assuring total seclusion.

Korean Air first took the delivery of A380 way back in June 2011 and with the latest arrival of its tenth jet, it has settled its order with Airbus.
