Korean Air upgrades services and facilities in business class

There’s a mad scramble among the big flagship carriers to attract premium customers with upgraded cabins and facilities. A stiff competition is currently underway to keep the budget carriers away from extending their reach in premium flying business.

Media reports recently said that South Korea’s two leading carriers – Korean Air and Asiana Airlines – have upgraded facilities and services in their first class and business class cabins.

According to reports. Korean Air had earlier in May 2015 introduced a Boeing 777 aircraft with new first and business class seats in its fleet. The customers booking business class tickets will be offered seats with bigger partitions ensuring greater privacy. The seats in first class also have separate doors and ensure more privacy. The seats are also quite wider as well.

The reports quoted a spokesperson of Korean Air as saying that competition has for quite few years greatly intensified thus prompting the carriers to enhance their in-flight services.

Another South Korean carrier Asiana Airlines has also launched its new Airbus A380 aircraft early in May this year. The cabins have been fitted with spacious and more comfortable seats.

Asiana Airlines had become the first carrier in South Korea to install sliding doors on first class seats in 2012. Individual vents were also installed in the first class seats to keep the air fresh inside. A spokesperson of Asiana Airlines said that the new first class seats will be featuring 32-inch LCD screen, which is presently the largest screen to be installed on any commercial passenger aircraft. The customers will also be provided high-quality headphones for ensuring top sound quality.
