Le Méridien Fort Lauderdale Airport is scheduled to open in 2017. The announcement of the opening of Parisian-born Le Méridien brand at Fort Lauderdale’s Dania Beach was made by its owner Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. The new hotel is being opened after an extensive $30 million conversion and renovation.
The opening of the new hotel in Fort Lauderdale comes close on the heels of a sustained and aggressive brand growth of Le Méridien in North America during the past 18 months, which saw the opening of the property in various U.S. cities including Indianapolis, Tampa, New Orleans, Columbus, Chicago and Charlotte.
Media reports said that the new Le Méridien Fort Lauderdale Airport will be featuring 245 suites and guestrooms with floor-to-ceiling windows offering awesome views. The hotel will also have two redesigned restaurants. One of the restaurants will be based on the concept of a mid-century modern, open kitchen. The Le Méridien brand’s signature Latitude Bar will also be there at the hotel. The Le Méridien Hub will also be introduced at the new hotel, which seeks the traditional hotel lobby to be transformed into a social gathering place while simultaneously building on the brand’s award-winning coffee culture and arrival experience. The guests will be welcomed to a transformed glass curtain façade, upgraded porte-cochere and large-scale artwork in high impact areas. Among other amenities to be offered at Le Méridien Fort Lauderdale Airport include a state-of-the-art 20,000 square feet flexible meeting space, a revamped outdoor pool and an expanded fitness centre.
Le Méridien Fort Lauderdale Airport is ideally located and can be reached within few minutes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The hotel can also be easily accessed from Fort Lauderdale Everglades Cruise Port. The guests staying at the hotel can also easily visit downtown Fort Lauderdale, beaches, nightclubs, world-famous restaurants and several boutiques situated nearby Miami Beach. Among other major Fort Lauderdale attractions to be visited while staying at the hotel include BB&T Center, Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale and Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
