LOT Polish Airlines first Dreamliner service to Chicago to begin in January 2013

LOT Polish Airlines recently announced it will become the first European airline to begin flight services between Warsaw and Chicago O’Hare International Airport on its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft starting in January 2013.

The airline said in a statement that it will become the first airline in Europe to receive the delivery of Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, albeit four years late. LOT Polish Airline was originally scheduled to have acquired its first Dreamliner aircraft in 2008.

Marcin Pirog, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines, said that the airline will now take the delivery of a Boeing 787 aircraft in November this year. The aircraft will be put into regular service a couple of months later.

Pirog said that the passengers will be able to buy air tickets and board Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights on Chicago O’Hare-Warsaw route scheduled to be operated in the first half of January 2013.

He said that Chicago continues to be the biggest market for LOT Polish Airlines, not only in the U.S. but worldwide. He revealed that the airline flew 160,000 passengers between Chicago and Warsaw.

LOT Polish Airlines currently operates seven flights every week from Chicago O’Hare international Airport to Warsaw. However, in the coming months the service on Chicago-Warsaw route will fluctuate between 7 and 11 flights every week.
