LOT Polish Airlines to stop Warsaw-Newark flights from October 29

Poland’s national carrier LOT Polish Airlines recently announced it will stop operating flights services between Warsaw and New York’s Newark International Airport.

The airline in a statement said that the passengers will not be able to buy air tickets on Warsaw-Newark route as the flights will no longer be operational from October 29, 2012.

LOT Polish Airlines is taking this step as it wants to start flights between the Polish capital Warsaw and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The airline stated that it considers New York JFK as having a greater potential in terms of passenger traffic instead of New York’s Newark International Airport. Apart from this, the airline believes that its New York JFK operations will suit it the most and support its mid-term as well as long-term network strategy.
 
The airline also said that its partnership with JetBlue Airways will further strengthen with the end of its nonstop flights services between Newark and Warsaw.

The airline is offering full refunds or flights from New York JFK to all those passengers who have already purchased their air tickets on suspended Newark flights.
