Lufthansa doubling first and business class lounges in Munich

Germany’s national carrier Lufthansa recently announced it is all set to double its lounges for first class and business class customers in Munich once again. The premium customers can while away their time while sipping wine at the bar overlooking the apron and soak up the panoramic views of the runway.

Media reports said that five new lounges would be available for the airline’s first class and business class customers as well as frequent travelers, Lufthansa HON-circle members, and passengers with Lufthansa Senator status. The five new lounges in the Satellitengebäude will come up in a total area of 4,000 square metres and would be inaugurated in April 2016.

Thomas Klühr, Lufthansa Passage board member for finance and hub Munich, said, “The new lounges coming up in the Satellitengebäude shows the airline’s commitment and undoubtedly a quantum leap forward in offering more quality and a five-star service. The first class and business class customers are sure to get mesmerized with the vibrant atmosphere and direct views over the apron. The lounges can be easily accessed with their convenient location in the central area of the new building.”

The construction of the new lounges has already started. The first class lounge is being built in an area of above 1,000 square metres on the top level. The first class passengers and HON-circle members can look forward to a luxurious atmosphere.

The business class lounges are coming up on the Non-Schengen level. The customers in business class lounges will be able to enjoy their pre-boarding time relaxing in armchairs in a bistro area.
