Lufthansa to operate A330-300 aircraft on Dusseldorf-Newark route

Germany''s flagship carrier Lufthansa has announced it will be operating Airbus A330-300 aircraft on Dusseldorf-Newark Liberty route starting this winter. The flights to Newark Liberty from Dusseldorf is being currently served utilizing an Airbus A340-300 aircraft, which will now be replaced this winter.

Lufthansa also disclosed that it has decided to downscale the seasonal service between Dusseldorf and Chicago. The Dusseldorf-Chicago route was to be served with five-times weekly service during this winter schedule. The airline however said that the winter services have been curtailed and the route will instead be served with summer seasonal flights only.

Media reports said that Lufthansa Flights LH436 and LH437 were to be operated starting from October 25, 2015 until March 26, 2016 as part of its winter service. The service on Dusseldorf-Chicago route which was otherwise considered to be year-round has now been curtailed after stopping the winter flights.

In yet another development, the reports also said that Lufthansa has indicated that it will stop operating its flights services to Indonesia''s capital city Jakarta as well during the winter schedule. The airline had launched flights on Frankfurt-Kuala Lumpur-Jakarta route last summer.

The reports said that Lufthansa will now be operating five-times weekly roundtrip service between Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur only this winter. The service will start operating from October 25 this year. The airline will be deploying an Airbus A340-300 aircraft to serve Frankfurt-Kuala Lumpur route.

According to the reports, Lufthansa Flight LH782 will depart from Frankfurt at 22:10 hours and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 17:25 hours next day. The return Flight LH783 will make its departure from Kuala Lumpur at 01:10 hours and arrive in Frankfurt at 07:40 hours the same day. The outbound flight will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, while the inbound flight will be operated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
