Lufthansa upgrades business class cabins and services

Lufthansa has embarked on an ambitious plan aimed at enhancing the travel experience of its customers with a range of initiatives this year. The airline is undertaking many innovations which are clearly based on the feedback of its customers.

Lufthansa said that the innovations include modern cabin design across its entire fleet, new on board service concepts, innovative pricing concept and expansion of its long-haul network by adding new destinations. The airline wants to make the travel experience quite attractive for its leisure and business travelers.

The airline recently offered its customers from Ghana a one week promotion for travel in business class flights to a number of destinations in the United States. The promotion, which ended on March 16, provided the customers opportunity to get premium travel experience at an extraordinary price.

Media reports said that Lufthansa will be upgrading its entire fleet of long-haul aircrafts with the state-of-the-art seats and modern cabins in all its travel classes. The airline will either modify or replace nearly 39,000 seats. The new long haul aircrafts purchased by the airline will have 7,000 seats in its business class cabins. The airline also indicated that the new long-haul aircrafts will have a total of 600 seats in first class and more than 27,000 seats in economy class. The upgrades will start taking place from the third quarter of 2015. The airline also said that the customers on all its long-haul flights will also be offered the powerful FlyNet broadband internet service.

Lufthansa started making huge investments to retrofit its cabins in all travel classes starting from 2011. This year the airline wants to bring to a successful close of its most comprehensive and largest retrofit program in its history.
