As Madrid’s business profile grows, several carriers are in the process of introducing new flights to or increasing their capacity in the Spanish capital. One such carrier is the premier business class airline, Emirates which will introduce a second daily flight on the Dubai to Madrid route from 1st July 2012. The service will be operated by 360 seats 3-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which feature eight private suites in first class and sleeperettes in business class. Additionally premier class passengers on these Madrid flights can also avail of complimentary chauffeur-driven services in Madrid, offered by the airline.
However, another Middle-Eastern carrier, Qatar Airways is set to increase capacity on its daily Doha to Madrid route by introducing Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft on this route, six times a week from 25th March 2012. Korean Air will also split its service, which linked Seoul, Amsterdam and Madrid, so that from 3rd of May; it will operate separate flights to the two European destinations, using Boeing 777-200ER aircraft thrice a week on the Madrid route.
Not to be outdone, Spain’s own native airline, Iberia has also announced new routes from Madrid to destinations in Africa, with service to Nouakchott set to start from 26 April 2012 and service to Accra set to commence from 1st June 2012.
