Malaysia Airlines introduces its new A330-300 aircraft

Malaysian Airlines recently introduced its new first of fifteen A330-300s aircraft featured with enhanced flight interiors and new MAS livery.

The new aircraft has been configured to provide more space to the passengers onboard. The new aircraft will be configured with a total of 283 seats than the previous number of 294. Out of the total number of 283 seats, 36 seats will be reserved as business class seats and the rest 247 will be offered as coach class seats.

The coach class seats will provide more room to the traveling passengers as the seat width has been increased from 17.0 inches to 17.5 inches. However, the pitch of the seat has been reduced to 32 inches instead of 33 inches. The area of business class seats has also been increased. The new seat width has been increased from 18.5 inches to 20.0 inches and its pitch from 40.0 inches to 60.0 inches.

The two classes also include other features such as greater headrests, power plug and USB port facility for electronic devices, mood lighting and larger window, larger stowage bins and an advanced AVOD in-flight entertainment system. The coach class seats will be equipped with four headrests whereas the business class seats will have six way adjustable headrests.

The new aircraft will start its operations between Kuala Lumpur and Brisbane from 20th April 2011. Later the aircraft will also serve other cities such as Shanghai, Osaka, Beijing, Perth and Delhi.

The refreshed MAS livery with red and blue stripes represents the corporate colors and was first introduced on the airline’s Boeing B737-800 aircraft that was launched in October 2010.
