Malaysia Airlines likely to operate A380 services to London, Amsterdam

The Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is planning to operate its A380 services to London and Amsterdam from Kuala Lumpur after acquiring the superjumbos next year.

The airline is hoping to take the delivery of five of the six A380s as early as next year, which it had previously ordered.

Recent media reports quoting airline sources said that operating the A380 into London’s Heathrow and Amsterdam’s Schipol airports would prove fruitful for the airline.

London is one of the most popular destinations for the Malaysia Airlines, whereas Amsterdam is also logical because the airline has worked more closely with the Dutch carrier KLM than any other airline.

and KLM are into codeshare agreement allowing MAS passengers to make connections to and from KLM’s extensive network covering the UK, mainland Europe and Scandinavia.

When the service begins, it’ll also be for the first time that any airline has operated the A380 into Amsterdam on a scheduled basis.

The Malaysia Airlines said that its A380 will accommodate 510 passengers – eight seats in first class, 54 seats in business class, and 420 seats in economy class. Besides, there will also be a 26-seater premium economy cabin, which will be a ‘first’ for the airline.
