Malaysia Airlines to offer more business class seats instead of premium economy

Malaysia Airlines, which recently introduced its first Airbus A380 aircraft on Kuala Lumpur-London Heathrow route, said that its earning on this route is good.

In a major turnaround from its stated position of introducing premium economy cabins on Kuala Lumpur-London Heathrow route, the airline has now announced that it has decided not to go ahead with premium economy cabin, but would rather offer more business class seats on this route.

Malaysia Airlines pressed into service its 494-seat A380 on Kuala Lumpur-London Heathrow route effective July 1, 2012. The aircraft is currently configured in a three-class layout – 8 seats in First Class, 66 seats in Business Class and 420 seats in Economy Class.

The airline had earlier announced plans to install premium economy seats in its Airbus A380 fleet. However, the airline has now decided not to offer premium economy seats. The airline in a statement said that it will be offering two additional rows of business class seats on this route.
  
The airline is scheduled to acquire its second Airbus A380 soon and will be increasing the Kuala Lumpur-London Heathrow service to daily from mid-August this year.
