Most airlines offering lie-flat seats in business class cabins

Recent media reports have said that most of the airlines have now started offering top notch business class cabins to their customers. The reports said that there are many airlines that have even done away with their first class cabins altogether. This is to stem the losses that might have been occurring by flying first class that most of the time goes empty and at the same time to provide a luxurious experience with the best amenities at rates less expensive than those in the first class.

The latest trend on business class flights is to offer fully lie-flat seats that convert into beds. American Airlines has installed fully lie flat seats that transforms into bed on its Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts. UK’s flagship carrier British Airways has equipped all its new Airbus A380 aircrafts with fully lie flat beds. Singapore Airlines has also undergone a major haul and upgraded its business class product. Etihad Airways is also offering lie flat seats across its fleet with aisle access to its customers. Moreover, Etihad Airways is way ahead of its rivals and has placed onboard chefs to provide cuisines as demanded by its premium customers. Another Middle East carrier Emirates Airline is not to be left behind. The airline is offering some of the best amenities to its customers traveling on cheap business class tickets. Lufthansa is also upgrading its business class product and would unveil it in future.

The reports said that international carriers like Delta Air Lines, Air Canada and Virgin Atlantic have completely done away with first class on several of their international routes. Delta Air Lines calls its business class product as ‘BusienssFirst’ while Virgin Atlantic Airways has named it ‘Upper Class’.
